XXXXEQUIPMENT
XXXXAs
a WORLD CENTER OF REFERENCE FOR POLYSOMNOGRAPHY AND
SLEEP RELATED EXAMINATIONS, the Sleep Institute has
the most modern sleep disorder diagnosis and treatment
equipment. The laboratory is capable of performing several
examinations and offers
treatments involving continuous positive airway pressure
devices (CPAP), positive pressure on two levels (BIPAP
or VPAP), and variable positive pressure (AUTO-CPAP).
XXXXThe
rooms have infra-red cameras (for visualizing images
in the dark) to monitor patients during sleep. Images
are projected on a monitor at the recording center under
constant supervision by technicians. The system for
transmitting sound from the bedroom is wired to speakers
in the recording center, enabling technicians to hear,
identify and report patient's snoring and other sleep
features. Communication between patient and technician
is precise and fast, enabling safe and agile service
in emergencies in particular. Treatments involving continuous
positive airway pressure devices (CPAP), positive pressure
on two levels (BIPAP or VPAP), and variable positive
pressure (AUTO-CPAP) feature remote control so that
adjustments may be made by the technician away from
the bedroom. The Sleep Institute also has cardiovascular
resuscitation equipment for emergencies, medications,
oxygen cylinders and electric inhalers.
